Year 5 Residential
Stubbington 2025
We are excited to share that our Year 5 children will be heading off to Stubbington Study Centre on Monday 20th January until Friday 24th January with Mrs Warland!
Subbington is situated on the beautiful Hampshire coast, and is a Children’s Services facility available to schools for residentials. They pride themselves on giving children a chance to get back to nature. It is about Bringing Learning to Life where they enhance the school curriculum. As a centre, it focuses on three key areas:
Environment - outdoor learning exploring wildlife and their habitats.
Adventure - team building and problem solving along with orienteering.
Culture - local history and geography.
It is also a conservation area and attracts wildlife into the local area for the children to learn about.

Suggested Kit List:
At Stubbington, they love working outside so be prepared to spend lots of your time outdoors. You need to make sure you bring the right clothing so you keep warm and dry particularly if it rains.
Here are the things to remember to bring:
• stout walking shoes / boots / trainers (at least 2 pairs of footwear in case one pair gets wet)
• t-shirts and long sleeve tops.
• trousers
• pants
• socks
• extra socks and underclothing
• anorak or warm coat – these need to be waterproof and have a hood
• at least two pair of long trousers
• gloves, hat, extra sweaters etc in colder times of the year
• water bottle
• pyjamas and slippers (dressing gown if you would like)
• Toilet bag including: soap/shower-gel, shampoo, flannel, toothbrush and toothpaste - no aerosols please
• two distinctive towels
• a hand towel
• evening clothing e.g. jogging bottoms.
• Bin bags for dirty clothes
•Plenty of layers for the cold weather!
Remember: Your child needs to be able to carry the bag!
Please make sure that ALL of your items are labelled with your name so that if they get lost, they can be reunited with their owner.
If you want to bring binoculars and torches you can but make sure they have your name on them. Remember you will be responsible for looking after them.
You are not allowed to bring any electronic items unless these are for medical reasons.
We suggest up to £10 pocket money for the week. The tuck shop sells sweets and drinks, as well as a wide range of souvenirs. Teachers will look after this, so please put it in a named wallet.
Any questions:
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with the school office if there is anything you would like to discuss prior to the trip.
